11 Jul Welcome event by the Friends of the Foundation Association
The Association of Friends of the Foundation welcomed its new members on Friday, July 7, 2023 with a beautiful evening in the garden of the Residence – Museum of Eleftherios Venizelos, in Halepa.
The Youth Choir of the Municipality of Chania with Aphrodite Mitsotakis on the piano and under the direction of Nikos Perakis won the applause of the large audience who participated in the event, with ABBA melodies.
Argyro Haniotakis, the president of the Friends of the Foundation Association, warmly welcomed the new members and highlighted the contemporary significance of the Treaty of Lausanne in her address. During his brief greeting, Nikos Papadakis, the Director General of the Foundation, emphasized the global impact of Venizelos, as evident in the expansive network created through the National Foundation’s activities, including the three museums in Chania, numerous branches in Greece and abroad, and the Association of Friends.
Before the event, guided tours of the museum were conducted by its staff. The event concluded with a small reception, thoughtfully organized by the members of the Association.
