27 Mar Venizelos visit in Bucarest: an article by Nikos Sarris.
In a warm climate of hospitality the Greek President Karolos Papoulias, accompanied by Foreign Minister, paid an official visit to Bucharest, Romania, the weekend 28 – 29 of June 2011. Despite his busy schedule with meetings with civic, political and ecclesiastical leaders of the friendly country, and of declaring the work of Hellenic – Romanian Business Forum, has devoted a great amount of his time to visit the events which were organized in Romania to honor Eleftherios Venizelos. During the weekend were made speeches and the unveiling of a bust of Eleftherios Venizelos in a central square of Bucharest. The placement of the bust was the result of cooperation of the Greek community in Romania, the Greek Embassy and the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”.
