28 May The Governor of the Bank of Greece at Venizelos’ Residence
The Governor of the Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, visited Chania on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Crete. During his visit, he toured the Eleftherios Venizelos Residence Museum in Chalepa, accompanied by senior Bank of Greece officials and the president of the Cooperative Bank of Chania, Michalis Marakakis.
The General Director of the Foundation, Nikolaos Papadakis-Papadis, Deputy Director Argyro Vatsaki, and historian Spyros Daoudakis guided them through the Museum.
In the guestbook, Mr. Stournaras wrote: “Only by visiting this Residence Museum and hearing the details of the national leader’s political and private life can one fully appreciate the creation of modern Greece and Eleftherios Venizelos’s contribution to it.”
