18 Jul Event for Venizelos in Munich
An event for Eleftherios Venizelos, featuring the documentary “Venizelos: Struggle for Asia Minor,” was held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the University of Munich’s imposing Senate Hall. George Koukourakis, Deputy Director of the National Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos,” attended the event and discussed the Foundation’s international collaborations with universities and Greek diaspora organizations, as well as its branches in the USA and Australia. He also highlighted Venizelos’s personality and historical significance. Professor Lilia Diamantopoulou, Chair of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Munich, presented key documents from historian Polychronis Enepekidis’s archive.
The event was co-organized by the Department of Modern Greek Studies at Ludwig Maximilian University and AHEPA Munich, under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad.
