18 Aug The Greek Prime Minister visiting the Residence-Museum “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”.
The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis made a private visit to the esidence-Museum in Halepa, Chania on August 18, 2023. He was accompanied by his daughter Daphne and three of her friends. During the visit, Mr. Mitsotakis received a tour of the museum from Nikolaos Papadakis, the Director-General of the National Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”.
Mr. Mitsotakis expressed his longstanding interest in the historic Venizelos house and showed particular fascination with the Venizelos family’s genealogical tree, displayed in the attic of the house, which highlights the close ties between the Venizelos and Mitsotakis families.
At the end of his visit, Prime Minister Mitsotakis left a message in the guest book, stating: “The greatest politician of modern Greece continues to inspire us with his foresight. He was useful, not liked, and this legacy of his remains relevant at a time when populism continues to besiege democracy.”
