Event of the Macedonian Department of the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”.

The Macedonian Department of the National Research Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos" honored the memory of Eleftherios Venizelos on the occasion of 75 years since his death, in a solemn ceremony held Sunday, March 20th at the theater of the City Hall of Neapolis, Thessaloniki.
Keynote speaker was  the Mayor of Neapolis and Sykeon, Simos Daniilidis. His speech was on the "Political and social reforms of Eleftherios Venizelos.  Changes in the structure of the State ".
At the beginning of the event was read a message from the Director General of the Foundation Mr. Nikolaos Papadakis marking the close ties and the excellent cooperation between the Foundation and the Macedonian Department. Alongside, at the "Gallery" of the theater exhibited photographs from the life and action of Eleftherios Venizelos. The book exhibition with the publications of the Foundation also operated until the afternoon.
Also, at the event, the Macedonian Department exhibited newspapers of the period 1912-1913 and 1923 (Lausanne Treaty) concerning the active presence of Eleftherios Venizelos in the Greek political scene. Thus, copies of newspapers' NEOLOGOS ',' EMBROS ',' ELEFTHERON VHMA "posted on the" Gallery "and attracted the attention and interest of the visitors. The events will culminate in Axioupoli, on Sunday, April 3rd, 2011.
