Event for Eleftherios Venizelos (Roustika, Rethymno).

An event, organised by the Municipality of Nikiforos Fokas and the Cultural Associations of Roustika and Atsipopoulo, under the auspices of the Foundation, was held in Roustika, Municipality of Nikiforos Fokas, on Monday, August 7th, 2006.
The speakers of the event that was organised on the occasion of the 70 years of the death of Eleftherios Venizelos, were Andreas Nanakis, Metropolitan of Arkalohori, Kasteli and Vianos, on the topic "The church of Crete in the revolution of Theriso" and Georgios Perpirakis, Honorary School Advisor of the First Grade Education, on the topic "Revolution of Theriso. Historical events in the area of Roustika and Argiroupoli".
The event started with introductory speeches by the organisers and comprised sound and cinematographic documentaries, as well as a photograph exhibition for Eleftherios Venizelos, from the Foundation archive.
The Association "Friends of the National Research Foundation Eleftherios K. Venizelos" was created during the event.
