The life and work of Eleftherios Venizelos are reflected in the photograph exhibition "Eleftherios Venizelos at the International Airport of Athens", which is permanent, hosted in the Central Terminal Building/ Gate 3/ Departures.
The exhibition, which is organised by the Athens International Airport and the Foundation, aims at informing the travellers and visitors of the airport, which is named after the great Greek politician, about the important role Venizelos played in the historical and social evolution of the country.
The remarkable photographic material, mainly from the Foundation’s Archive, presents many aspects of the personality and work of Venizelos, while the exhibition itself constitutes a tribute to the great man of vision, who established the Ministry of Aviation and the Civil Aviation in Greece, during his political career.
Some of the photographs constitute a kind offer of the Municipal Library of Hania, of the Greek Literary and Historical Archive (ELIA), of the Benaki Museum and the Liberal Club.
The bust of Venizelos is a donation of Ilektra Th. Vasileiou, in memory of her husband, the sculptor, Theodoros Vasileiou. The exhibition is open 24 hours.
